Good Friends

An afternoon spent in Gilroy with my good friends Linda, Ryan & little Zia now that they live a bit closer to me.

There's going to be a new addition to the family soon, too!

TBD pop-up at Mission Chinese

Hung out with the (former) crew from TBD Restaurant who did a pop-up at Mission Chinese Food last month. Alex made the best chirashi bowl EVER, honestly I'm still dreaming about it. Inside Scoop also did a post on the night here. Fun times!

Thank you Jesse for capturing back of the house moments!

Photographed with this lovely lady from JE Models. And shot a roll of film. Film! Good old Portra 400NC is just as amazing as I remember it.

Mara Hruby at The Great American Music Hall

Mara Hruby, a delightful young lady with an exceptional voice and amazing presence. Not to mention killer vintage style! She was gracious enough to give me some time before her performance at the Great American Music Hall; we shot these backstage right before her set. You can see her perform her latest single 'Cry Me A River' on Billboard here and see their interview with her here.

Coombsville for Wine Enthusiast

I photographed four fantastic winemakers in Coombsville, Nappa's newest appellation. I love people who are willing to get up and do a sunrise shoot! These guys and gals are up at the crack of dawn and it didn't even phase them.

You can read Wine Enthusiast's article here. And watch a fun video that the winemakers made about Coombsville here.

A Girl and a Camera

Portrait time! I spent a lovely afternoon photographing A Girl and a Camera's Jennifer Michelson recently. If you need a wedding photographer, she's your girl!

Wacky Jacky for Where Magazine

Captain Jacky Douglas is the skipper and owner of the fishing boat Wacky Jacky. It was inspiring to spend a day with the high spirited captain and her devoted crew on assignment for Where Magazine

We circled the Farallon Islands in search of salmon for the better part of the day. The ocean was very calm and hardly windy; so quiet that sometimes that we could hear the whales blowing before we saw their spray. There was a camaraderie that we felt at the end of the day, the kind where you spend the day with strangers and it's fun. Not everyone on the boat actually caught a fish, but everyone somehow went home with one. Including me!

Justice

Been organizing files lately. Oh joy.

But fun to revisit some shoots I did a while back, like this one of Justice.

Belcampo

This summer I had the pleasure of photographing Belcampo's family day at their ranch in Mount Shasta.

It was about 108 degrees or so and there was lots of fire and meat involved. Dedicated, detail oriented and hard working people producing a top notch product! It was an honor to be a part of their day. Thank you to Anya Fernald and her crew for making me feel like part of the family.

Goodbye Summer!

I have a hard time letting go. Catching the last of warm weather in Davis, CA.

Bust Magazine: Oakland!

Really enjoyed spending time in Oakland to shoot this travel story for Bust Magazine. The East Bay has so much to offer; I'm always looking for an excuse to spend the day over there. And now, commuting on a new Bay Bridge!

It was cool to discover places new to me like the beatutiful Mountainview Cemetery and Gondola Servizio on Lake Merritt. And to visit some new favorites like Brown Sugar Kitchen and Mua. I have been a BIG FAN of BUST for years (big fan!) and I am pretty excited to share this.

San Francisco Waterfront for Where Magazine

I love exploring my hometown in different ways and on this assignment I found myself on land, sea, and air to photograph San Francisco's active and well loved waterfront for Where Magazine.

A16 for Diablo Magazine

Spent the evening at A16 in Rockridge. I love getting assignments from Diablo magazine because it allows me to get out of the city and explore the other side of the bay. They have summer over there!
